Call for Papers! SETI 2025 Annual Workshop

The Sustainable Energy Transitions Initiative (SETI) invites submissions of research manuscripts, extended abstracts, and policy session proposals for its Tenth Annual Workshop.

Manuscript deadline: March 23, 2025

Dates & Location: Gothenburg University, Sweden. Two possible dates: June 26-29 or August 13-16. We will announce this decision soon, based on the availability of the network (please, indicate this during the submission).

The Tenth Annual SETI Workshop will focus on advancing policy-relevant research and refining SETI’s strategic plan for 2025-2028. This year’s 4-5 day event will feature regional workshops and interdisciplinary discussions on sustainable energy transitions, with a strong emphasis on aligning research with policy priorities, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). As always, we invite original research manuscripts and extended abstracts on a broad range of energy transition topics, from clean cooking solutions to energy access and policy interventions.

A key priority for SETI 2025 is the Call for Strategic Planning Session Proposals, aimed at fostering collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and funders. We encourage session ideas that explore regional energy transition challenges, multi-country policy coordination, and actionable research agendas that can secure funding and drive impact. Proposals may take the form of policy roundtables, cross-regional panels, or interactive discussions focused on co-developing research roadmaps, identifying funding opportunities, and engaging decision-makers. Submissions for both research papers and session proposals are due by March 23, 2025, with notifications sent in late March. More details are available in the submission form.
