We are excited to invite you and other students at top graduate programs worldwide to compete in the 14th annual Energy in Emerging Markets Case Competition, sponsored by the Duke Fuqua MBA Energy Club and the James E. Rogers Energy Access Project at Duke University. The competition is part of Energy Week at Duke which brings industry experts, community organizers, and government officials, and students to discuss the energy-climate nexus and explore the ways in which energy both contributes to climate change and can be a major solution.

The contest connects students, academia, and industry in pursuit of unconventional business-based solutions that expose unrecognized opportunities with positive social and environmental impact. It is your chance to tackle real-life, pressing energy business challenges and win some extra cash, with a total of $15,000 in prizes awarded to the winning student teams.

This year, we are partnering with SunCulture, a climate-tech company based in Nairobi, Kenya that combines solar-powered irrigation, financing and digital services to help small holder farmers across Africa with increase productivity and build climate resilience. Participants will gain practical experience developing business models to a real world energy challenge.
