As attention around climate investing grows, nature finance is growing as a distinct and essential field—focused on preserving and restoring ecosystems, biodiversity, and the natural capital that underpins our economies and communities. We have lessons to learn from the first generation of payments for environmental services and debt for nature swaps, as well as new opportunities arising from technologies that improve monitoring over time and space. This conversation will dive into how investors, corporates, and practitioners are structuring financial mechanisms to value and sustain natural systems, and what it will take to scale solutions that have potential benefits beyond carbon sequestration that have traditionally been left unpriced in private markets.
