Ph.D. student, Environmental Policy
Biz Yoder is a Ph.D. student in environmental policy with an economics concentration. She received her B.A. in physics from Colgate University in 2015 and M.S. in energy engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2019. Prior to coming to Duke, Biz worked for various companies in Uganda, doing work ranging from starting and managing the data team for a minigrid company to building renewable generators. Her previous research has focused on predicting demand patterns for unelectrified populations in East Africa. At Duke, Biz is interested in studying electricity modeling, the energy-climate nexus, and bringing an engineering lens to international energy policy research.
