Rajat is a second year Master of Environmental Management candidate with a concentration in Energy and Environment. He graduated from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani in India with a major in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.

Prior to Duke, Rajat worked as an Electronics Engineer with Western Digital where he focused on making the next generation of memory devices more energy efficient. Most recently, Rajat has worked on green term ahead power markets along with drafting policy recommendations to address inefficiencies in the Indian electricity sector during his time with GIZ India. He worked on expanding the use of solar for agriculture in Togo at the International Solar Alliance and developed new characterization tools for perovskite solar cells at the National University of Singapore. He is currently working on investigating the impacts of COVID on DRE and estimating the Energy Access Dividend for a host of countries.
