Maya Chandrasekaran
Ph.D. candidate, Environmental Policy
Maya Chandrasekaran is a 4th year PhD candidate in environmental policy at the Sanford School of Public Policy and the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. She is also currently a Global Health Doctoral Scholar with the Duke Global Health Institute. Maya is an applied economist with research interests including the nexus of gender, energy, and empowerment in low and middle income countries, energy sector interventions and impact evaluations, time use and time valuation and other nonmarket methods, applied Bayesian statistics, and water and sanitation. She is a research assistant at the Sanford School advised by Marc Jeuland and Subhrendu K. Pattanayak. In her free time, Maya is a yoga and meditation instructor teaching at various studios around her community. She also enjoys running and exploring the outdoors!
