As energy transitions accelerate, decision-makers face complex choices about aligning technology deployment, infrastructure investment, and economic objectives. Transport electrification is a powerful example of this challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, where the transition extends beyond decarbonizing transport to strengthening electricity systems and supporting broader economic development.
Building on the Kenya E-Mobility Knowledge Roadmap — developed by Duke University’s Energy Access Project, the University of Nairobi (EfD-Kenya), and the Africa E-Mobility Alliance — this session uses Kenya as a case study to explore how a stakeholder-driven process can identify the evidence needed to inform policy, investment, and implementation decisions, while highlighting priorities for future research.
